Ms. Perez

This is my sixth year teaching at Robert L. Craig School! I am very thrilled and grateful to be a part of such a wonderful school and community. I have always been very passionate about the subject I teach. During my time at Seton Hall University, I was an avid writer for the The Stillman Exchange, the business school's newspaper. I also contributed a myriad of poems to SHU's creative literary magazine, Chavez. Once I graduated, I continued to express my interest in reading and writing. Some of my poems have been published in anthologies and independent magazines. Recently, my poem "Dominoes" was published in 34th Parallel, an independent literary magazine. Dr. Ponds and I also published an article on cultural responsiveness in the classroom on ASCDExpress. During the summer of 2019, I was invited to present at the NJDOE Statewide Equity Conference on the implementation of my best practice, Socratic Seminars. It was a wonderful experience I was able to share with both my administrators as well as three of my fellow colleagues.

In 2019, I recieved my Master's degree in Creative Writing. This year is my fourth year as 8th grade advisor and I am really excited to help our 8th graders any way I can!

I welcome communication from parents and caregivers. I am bilingual in Spanish and English. If you prefer to contact me in Spanish, either through phone, email, or in-person, please do not hesitate to do so!
